SHOPPER BEWARE
We entered into contract with this company over a year ago. The salesman Richard does an excellent job convincing perspective clients that this company gives outstanding customer service and that the owner or foreman/ general manager is on the job site
everyday to ensure the quality of work. He also assured us that they use only TOP quality pavers and products. They started the job and we've never seen a foreman nor the owner present. We didn't notice a problem until the travertine pavers were installed.
The lines were crooked, there were large gaps everywhere, they weren't laid evenly, and many of them were sinking. The worst part was that dozens of them were chipped with missing corners, and cracked in half with big holes and imperfections. They looked horrible
and we paid top dollar as travertine was an upgrade! This was NOT the same quality of travertine pavers that they showed us when we visited the showroom! This was the lowest grade travertine on the market. We' are so disappointed. Another major concern is
that the deck is sloping towards our house so when it rains water collects and pools against our house. We were told by Richard, that when they lay the pavers they would " pitch" it so that the water would drain AWAY from the home. Now there is green mold
growing all around the pavers where the water pools. When we called to discuss our concerns they'd take weeks to send someone over , and when they did, he showed up with a few new pavers 5-10 which barely made any improvement as we have well over 1000 square
feet of decking. We told them that these were not the quality pavers we were shown in your showroom and we wanted the deck to be pitched correctly and to remove all pitted, cracked, poor quality pavers with holes, but we were told that the owner, Bruce Davis
sees nothing wrong, and so far refuses to replace the low quality damaged pavers. The pool surface is equally as bad! There are chipped glass cap tiles ( we also paid additional for designer tiles) all over the pool steps and the pool finish is splotchy with
big blue and white splotches everywhere and the surface is bumpy and rough! It feels like very course sandpaper! it looks and feels awful. Our children Had scrapes which bled on the bottom of their feet! We looked at at least a dozen other pools in the neighborhood
and not one had these type of blotches or rough texture. It looks like they used a spatula to apply the plaster it's so lumpy and rigid. We've never seen anything like it. We paid them in full 2 months ago. And kept up with our contractual responsibility.
Now are at their mercy. once we sent them photos of our children's feet , his staff called to inform us that they will work on the pool surface , , but it won't be for a few weeks. They drained our pool So now we have a big concrete hole, so of course we cannot
allow anyone in the backyard. They are sending back the same workers who Poorly applied the product to begin with. His staff told us " they will properly prep the surface and replaster over it" .Again using the same workers to try to correct the surface who
didn't apply it properly the first time , so we will just have to wait and see what happens, and at this point, it's hard to feel any confidence that they know what they are doing . We also have 4 jets on the swim out as that was an upgrade we chose. 2 of
them don't work and they still haven't sent anyone to fix them. In a nutshell , we expected to have our new pool by Memorial Day weekend , and we are a year after contract approaching Labor Day, with an unfinished pool , broken jets, a poor quality deck with
countless imperfections , and the owner, Bruce Davis , who is rude and refuses to talk to us or acknowledge the deficiencies we've brought to his attention. We've been extremely patient and now we feel we have no choice but to report this and contact state
agencies for assistance. We will update this post on any progress made regarding this project. This has been extremely stressful , exhausting , and disappointing. Regretfully , choosing Skyler pools was a big mistake.
