Avoid Purebred Breeders if you want a healthy dog!
|
I got an expensive female mini Golden Doodle from Purbred Breeders in October 2014. My puppy pick up was delayed by a week or more due to her having "worms" and a need for treatment. I drove 3.5 hr to meet the breeder, a guy who met me with the puppy and gave me some health papers for the dog. Only later, at home, I noticed that the breeder's name on the vaccination papers was different than the name of the guy who delivered the puppy to me. When the puppy was diagnosed two month later with giardia, I noticed that she had giardia and received a heavy duty treatment before I picked her up. She got giardia a few times since then, despite being well cared for. In July, she developed what a vet diagnosed as a "hot spot" on the top back and he treated her accordingly. She got another hot spot soon after (the treatment obviously was not working for her condition) and her beautiful hair started falling out in spots and a dark red short fur replaced the fur. It now looks like her back is full of holes with the dark red fur filling in. I contacted Purebred Breeders and got nowhere (they got the treatment history from the numerous vets, including a dermatologist). They told me it was all because of the hot spots and sent me the pictures of her supposed parents. Several days ago, the dog started developing something new; sneezing and what sounds like an unpleasant throat clearing. It seems to be getting worse and bothers her. Next week, I will take her to the vet again. I have spent a lot of money on the vets thus far and she is only 16 months old! Mind boggling how a company like this one can stay in business...
