Spa cover strap broke within 5 months - warranty claim was denied

I bought a spa cover from Hot Tub Works in June 2019, with a 5 year warranty. Within 5 months of delivery, one of the straps that is used to hold down the cover ripped. It was never used to lift the cover, and actually it ripped the first, and only, time it was touched. Pictures were sent to the company, per their request. They claim the strap was mis-used to lift the cover, which it never was.
They denied the warranty claim, and said that it would cost $175 for them to fix the strap. I contacted them again explaining the situation and asking them to reconsider, and they just said that it is not a defect, essentially blowing me off.
THIS COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS!!!
