I hired David Larrea at Home savers Direct to do a modification on my home back in September of 2008. He said that it would take 3 to 4 months for the modification and he charged me 2,000. I agreed and signed the papers. A month later, I had still not heard from Mr. Larrea or his company. I called him and I constantly got his receptionist. She told me that he wasn't available, she forwarded me to his voicemail and never got a call back. I called him numerous times and he never returned my call. He then forwarded my file to someone named Raul. Raul told me that they had submitted my modification application to the bank and that it was in review (This was still back in 2008). So in Jan of 2009, I called Raul and David back and got no response. They would not answer their phones or return my calls. I was getting super angry and skeptical because I didn't know what was going on and my payment adjusted so it went up. I was freaking out. So a week ago I called my bank to see what was going on and they told me that Direct Home Savers had just submitted my modification package in March and that the whole time that they were "waiting on the bank for a response", they were really doing nothing but sitting back and spending my 2000 dollars. These people are super unprofessional, unethical and have no sense of morality.
AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COST!!! You will be throwing away your money or will be scammed. Learn from my experience, don't go through what I went through. The modification is free, you don't have to use a company like Direct Home savers and go through the headache. The bank will help you if you work with them.
